Our trainee Paulius Kavaliauskas is, at the time of writing, the latest addition to the NIORD team.
Hailing from Lithuania, Paulius is a Civil Engineer with a Master’s in Energy from the University of Bergen, with a specialisation in instrumentation and floating wind turbines. He also holds a Bachelor’s in Petroleum and Process Technology from the University of Bergen.
Throughout his academic career, Paulius participated in various fjord and North Sea expeditions during which he measured ocean currents and wind speeds. He also explored the ocean floor using advanced instrumentation. Paulius’s experience includes utilizing these measurements, particularly in characterizing turbulence and environmental loading for offshore wind applications.
With a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation, Paulius is eager to contribute to the development of renewable energy solutions that harness the potential of our oceans.
He says: “Offshore wind energy has developed significantly across the globe, becoming a cornerstone of the energy system and playing a key role in the energy transition. I am committed to contributing my expertise and passion to drive sustainable practices that not only meet global energy needs but also pave the way for a healthier environment for future generations.”
